Stella Carrington stood on the balcony of her room, watching them leave before she started making her phone call.
She had actually known Charles Morrison for a while, and ever since she found out that he had pursued Elena Duncan, Stella had taken the initiative to negotiate with him. Charles was a very proud person, and with his title as a prince, he was actually impatient when Stella approached him. It wasn’t until Stella promised to help him win Elena Duncan’s heart that Charles started to take her seriously.
"Charles, come to the villa tomorrow to attend Elena Duncan’s birthday banquet. I’ll make good on the promise I made to you," Stella said chillingly into the phone.
"Stella Carrington, you’d better keep your word. I, Charles Morrison, am not someone to be toyed with." Charles was excited, yet he kept his cool and didn’t act out impulsively.
Stella had proactively sought him out to cooperate, and he had had her investigated. It turned out that she was infatuated with Elena Duncan’s boyfriend, Axel Hawkins. It seemed that their cooperation was born out of mutual needs, which is why he agreed to it.
In truth, he wasn’t one to pester persistently. He had pursued girls before, and if rejected, he would not take any further action. But Elena Duncan was different—he really liked her and had never before felt so determined to win a woman’s affection.
So, when Stella proposed their collaboration, even the rational side of him felt a surge of impulse.
"I know, rest assured. Remember, have the things I asked you to prepare ready," Stella reminded him. She too had made preparations, just in case.
