The two women met at the downstairs door and then came up together.
When they opened the door, the room was tidy and not as chaotic as they had imagined. Nancy Sallow immediately felt a bit embarrassed. Could it be that her son was not up to the task?
She had tampered with the wine the day before, so Bernard Taylor wasn’t drunk, and since he was sober, shouldn’t he know what newlyweds are supposed to do on their wedding night? Isn’t any grown man supposed to know that?
She knew it, her son had been abstinent for too long, and in the long run, how could that be good for his health?
If Avery looks down on him, that would be unacceptable.
Avery’s mother, however, didn’t have such thoughts as Nancy Sallow. Seeing that the children were still not up, she placed breakfast on the dining table and looked up to ask Nancy Sallow, "My dear, have you eaten yet? I made quite a lot, do you want some?"
"No need, I’ve already eaten at home," Nancy Sallow shook her head in refusal. She didn’t eat much for breakfast, usually just a glass of milk, paired with a banana, or a small piece of bread was enough.
She needed to maintain her figure at all times.
