Secret Wealthy Marriage

Chapter 1045 - 024 Unlicensed Driving_5

"..." Avery Graham pursed her lips. She suspected this was an attempt to extort Bernard Taylor – that’s typical of women, she thought. Though not yet married, once a woman’s heart is set, she naturally tends to side with her partner. "We went to register our marriage yesterday, but the Civil Affairs Bureau’s system crashed. Whether you were there to get married or divorced, nobody could do anything."

"What? The Civil Affairs Bureau’s system crashed? You guys really ran into something so bizarre?" Carolline Ruiz could hardly contain her laughter. She didn’t know whether to say they were incredibly lucky or just plain lucky. Maybe just lucky?

Such a rare event, and Bernard Taylor experienced it. He probably felt like throwing up.

"Yeah, and I heard there aren’t any auspicious days for the next month. Only yesterday was an auspicious day." Avery added, meaning that, even if they wanted to register their marriage, it would now be postponed for a month.

Nancy Sallow must care about this stuff too, her mother was someone who also paid attention to auspicious days. So, if Bernard insisted that they live together before marriage, that meant they would be ’driving without a license’ for a month.

"So, you’re ’driving without a license’ now?" With hickeys all over and so deep, it looked like whatever could happen had already happened.

"...Sort of." Avery admitted reluctantly. They had planned on getting their marriage certificate, for goodness’ sake. It wasn’t their fault that fate intervened, preventing them from registering.

"Hmm, driving without a license, pregnancy before marriage, how nice," Carolline said with a smile and then stood up; it was time to go downstairs for a meal.

"Who said I’m definitely going to be pregnant before marriage? I’m going to buy medicine later, buy some condoms. I’m not going to get pregnant before marriage," Avery snapped, as if she was arguing with someone, stormed forward, opened the door and saw a confused-looking servant standing outside, somewhat embarrassed.

Avery was even more embarrassed. She knew she had been shouting a bit loudly; the servant must have heard her.

Well, they heard, so what? They didn’t know each other anyway. If it came down to it, she just wouldn’t visit Carolline’s place in the future.
