Chapter 906: Controlled_3
"Really? That’s nice, but that lady is too arrogant and domineering. Do you like that sort of thing?" Avery Graham pursed her lips and smiled, not realizing how fake her smile looked and how unattractive it made her appear.
She truly believed that the woman was not good enough for Bernard Taylor. If Bernard really ended up with her, it would be like casting pearls before swine—of course, the ’swine’ referred to Mona Cervantes.
"I don’t like her," Bernard said straightforwardly. He wanted to say he liked someone like her, but that sort of remark had become impossible to make months ago.
"That’s what I thought too. She’s not a good match for you," Avery said directly, feeling suddenly cheerful.
Her explanation to herself was simple—she genuinely disliked that woman, and if Bernard really started dating her, Avery felt she would no longer want to continue being friends with him.
"..." Bernard just looked at her seriously while Avery, carefree, began picking food out of the pot to eat. After sampling a bite, she exclaimed, "Mmm, delicious! Bernard, you really know how to season things. Try some yourself."
Bernard also started putting food into his bowl, eating unhurriedly.
"By the way, was that lady’s coat really worth twelve thousand?" Avery suddenly remembered that Bernard had taken the woman shopping at lunchtime. It was just some cola stains—certainly, they could be washed out.
But Bernard abruptly pulled out his wallet and placed the receipt in front of Avery with utmost seriousness, "Lady Avery, here’s the bill. Shouldn’t you reimburse me?"
"Twenty-three thousand?" Avery stared at the receipt, dumbfounded. Wasn’t it a twelve thousand coat? How did it turn into a twenty-three thousand one? And Bernard was saying he didn’t like the woman—whom was he trying to fool?
But that wasn’t even the main point. The main point was, did Bernard’s words mean she should reimburse him for the bill?
