Marcus Parker stepped outside and immediately had someone notify the others that tonight’s dinner was abruptly canceled, explaining that Auntie wasn’t feeling well and they would reschedule some other time.

Marcus Parker found some solace in their reaction, but Ellie Wilton had never acted like this towards him before. Today’s sudden change surely meant something must have happened when she left the house.
Ryan Parker and Celia Wade were still out watching a movie when they received Marcus Parker’s call and had no choice but to head home.
Upon arriving, Ryan Parker immediately saw the worried expression on his father’s face. Moreover, the living room was empty except for his dad, even though it was usually both his parents there. "Dad, where’s Mom?"
"Your mom is in her room. You and Celia go up and see her, and while you’re there, ask her what happened today," Marcus Parker said with a sigh, indicating his own inability to get answers or he wouldn’t have interrupted their evening.
