"Alright, let’s go then." Bryan Hawkins was looking for an excuse to leave, and Carolline Ruiz just provided him with a perfect one.
It’s better to leave now so he doesn’t have to see William Hawkins’ smug face. Bryan thought what’s so great about it? Wait until he has a daughter, then he’ll make William envious.
"Are you guys leaving?" Grandma Hawkins asked, looking at the two of them.
"No, grandma, we’re going to pick up Axel. He’s also looking forward to seeing his new siblings." Carolline explained.
"Oh, alright, bring Axel here. Tell him he has a little sister Avery and a little brother Aiden Axon. Let him be happy too. I haven’t seen him in a couple of days, I miss him. When Avery and Aiden Axon have their one-month celebration, we’ll have a big celebration." Grandma Hawkins nodded.
Bryan Hawkins then took Carolline away.
Carolline looked at the man who was sitting in the driving cabin with a depressed look on his face, not planning on starting the car. She asked after a while, "What’s wrong? Are you envious and resentful of someone having a daughter?"
"Wife, isn’t that Avery name actually our daughter’s name that you gave them? The name Avery is so good." William Hawkins had a daughter before he did, and he has been smug about it, which has been depressing him. Now his wife gave away the name that was supposed to be their daughter’s, how can he not be depressed?
This has nothing to do with envy nor rage. William Hawkins’ ability to have a daughter is his own, and Bryan Hawkins can do it too, maybe even having two daughters. But of course, it is a bit frustrating since he can’t decide if his child is going to be a boy or a girl.
