Even if she married the village chief’s son, she would have to work in the fields every day. She certainly wouldn’t be living like she was now, being able to doll herself up, looking pretty and frequenting high-end venues.
However, these glory days lasted for only three months when Debbie found out that she was pregnant. When she excitedly told the man, his demeanor changed instantly - like night and day.
The man immediately turned stern, coldly handing her a stack of money and directed her to the hospital to abort the child.
But Debbie couldn’t bear to do it. She had heard that if a man doesn’t want to take responsibility, a woman can use their unborn child to force him to do so.
As such, the child was Debbie’s trump card. She was far from willing to discard such a trump card. Moreover, the man had given her a significant amount of money when she revealed her pregnancy - several times more than usual.
Debbie, therefore, refused to abort her potential golden goose. After all, her goal was to marry this man. When the man learned about Debbie’s intentions, he scoffed, "You want to marry me? Who do you think you are, that your pretty face can become my wife? Better do the sensible thing, abort the child, continue with this life. If you think you can use this baby to tie me down, you will only regret."
Debbie didn’t believe him. She was indeed hoping to marry him for his money, but she also loved him as a person. Otherwise, she wouldn’t have been so happy upon hearing the news about her pregnancy.
However, a month later, when the man found out that Debbie did not follow his advice, he furiously left. Before leaving, they had a huge argument where the man revealed that he already had a wife and children - a boy and a girl - and was happy with his life.
