Chapter 655: It’s Really Not Him (2)
Katie wasn’t good at comforting people either. At this time, she knew both of them must be very worried, but except for advising them not to worry too much, she really didn’t know what else to do.
To say that Elena would be fine was just self-deception. No matter if she fell into Debbie Duncan’s hands or the trafficker’s, she didn’t think Elena would have an easy time.
At this moment, Katie wished the kidnappers would give her a call so she could at least know their purpose for taking Elena. But it had been more than an hour since Elena went missing, and no phone call had come through.
Neither she nor Cole Duncan had received a call.
"I’ll take you home first," Cole said, moving his wheelchair in front of Daisy Willow.
"No need, I can go back by myself," Daisy shook her head in refusal. Cole was already inconvenienced, how could she let him escort her?
"Then, you go home early. I’ll go back too. If there’s any new information, we’ll communicate by phone. For now, don’t tell my uncle and aunt so they won’t worry. Just say Elena is staying with me for a couple of days. As for the excuse, you can think of something to tell them," Cole instructed.
Daisy nodded with teary eyes, understanding that the more people knew, the more complicated and difficult the situation would become to handle.
Not fully reassured, Katie watched Daisy for a moment longer before wheeling Cole away.
After they left, Daisy didn’t dare go home alone, fearing her ability to lie wasn’t sufficient. She hadn’t fully prepared herself mentally and continued to wander along the main road, even hoping that she would suddenly bump into Elena.
