"Do you want to tell me what’s going on between you two?" Carolline was genuinely worried and really wanted to know what had happened to Celia.
"Aren’t you supposed to be at work today?" Celia looked up and asked.
"..." Carolline suddenly remembered that she had to go to work today, but it was too late to rush back now. She took out her phone and was about to call Megan to ask her to help her take leave. As soon as the call connected, Megan spoke first, "Are you asking for leave? Your husband already called me."
Speaking of Bryan Hawkins, he had already bought breakfast and returned.
"Well, thank you. I’ll go back as soon as I finish up here," Carolline nodded, taking a rare personal leave.
"Alright, let’s not talk about this anymore," Megan hung up the phone, annoyed that this couple had disturbed her early morning sleep.
"Done, I got the leave," Carolline said to Celia, taking the breakfast from Bryan Hawkins’ hand, "You should eat and go to work. I’ll stay with her today."
"Alright, I’ll come back early in the afternoon," Bryan Hawkins nodded.
"Okay," Carolline didn’t refuse, as Celia could only drink milk and not eat anything else, so the couple ate in front of her.
Soon, the nurse brought two phones to them. The phone cases were broken, but Celia managed to turn them on. Both phones rang incessantly, like they were competing in a singing contest.
These were all call reminders and unread text messages.
