Chapter 613: Celia Wade Awakens (1)
The anesthesia had worn off, yet Celia Wade remained unconscious. The main doctor told Carolline Ruiz when he came to check, informing her that the patient was simply too exhausted and had fallen into a deep sleep, so she should not worry. Carolline could then breathe a bit easier.
Carolline also inquired about the condition of Jordy Wade, the thing was, the doctor’s account wasn’t as encouraging as Celia’s situation had been. The news struck Carolline like a sudden blow to the chest. If Celia were to wake up and find out that Jordy was in a coma, Carolline had no idea what she would think.
What Carolline was more curious about was how Celia had ended up with Jordy, moreover, how they had gotten involved in such a bizarre car accident. Only when Celia wakes up would they come to know the entire truth.
However, what Carolline didn’t expect was Celia’s deep slumber. It was now nighttime, and Celia still hadn’t awakened. Carolline began to worry. She had just undergone major surgery and was not eating. Carolline wondered how long her body could endure this, even fearing that Celia may never wake up again.
Regrettably, the doctor’s diagnosis was that the patient was in a deep sleep rather than a coma. He assured Carolline not to worry and mentioned that once the patient’s sleep cycles restore, she will wake up.
So, what had Celia been through that had worn her out to this extent?
When Bryan Hawkins came to deliver dinner, he brought two caretakers along, one to look after Jordy Wade, and the other to care for Celia.
They ate dinner together. When Sophia Lawson called to ask them if they were coming to pick up Axel, Bryan Hawkins glanced at Carolline’s state and turned her down. He told Sophia that Axel could stay with her for another day, they would pick him up tomorrow.
Sophia Lawson didn’t ask much; she agreed to his request. After all, Axel being at home was what she desires the most.
