Over at the restroom, Bryan finished using it and saw Charlotte slowly washing her hands at the sink between the men’s and women’s restrooms. She then slowly touched up her makeup.
He walked over and washed his hands. As Charlotte pretended to finish her makeup and retracted her hand, she seemed to accidentally bump Bryan’s arm.
Charlotte feigned surprise, "I’m sorry, Mr. Hawkins."
"..." Bryan Hawkins didn’t respond. He took some soap and applied it to the area Charlotte had touched, scrubbing vigorously. "I have a cleanliness obsession. I especially dislike being touched by unclean people."
"..." Charlotte’s face turned pale. She couldn’t understand why she was considered unclean in Bryan’s eyes.
She knew Carolline fairly well. Their conflict should have been kept between them, and Carolline shouldn’t have told Bryan about it. Yet, it was evident that Bryan was repulsed by her.
Charlotte was still a virgin! She firmly believed in not cohabiting or engaging in premarital sex until she got married, so she was very clean, alright?
Back then, she looked down on Carolline for getting pregnant before marriage. Although Carolline’s background was better than hers, she despised Carolline’s actions.
