Chapter 421: She Wants a Divorce (7)
Although Elena had fun playing with him today, he could always sense an underlying sadness in her.
"Did Elena tell you that, or is this just your perception?" Carolline Ruiz was surprised by Axel’s keen observation. After all, Elena was a child, and her parents’ impending divorce would understandably depress her. However, she believed this was just a temporary phase.
"It’s what I feel," replied Axel.
"Well, they have some family issues. Your Auntie Daisy Willow is getting a divorce. Once that’s over, Elena will be with her loving mother, and she’ll be happy." Carolline always refrained from keeping secrets from Axel. Just like when he asked about his father, she honestly told him who his father was. Whenever they saw Bryan Hawkins on TV, she would point out that he was his father.
"Ah?" Axel hadn’t thought that his parents would reconcile just as Elena’s parents were about to split.
"You’ll understand it better when you grow up a bit more. Anyway, when you have time, we should spend more time with them. Ok?" Carolline was not as surprised.
"Okay, alright." Axel nodded. Elena was his friend, and he didn’t want her to be sad.
Meanwhile, Elena returned home with Daisy Willow, becoming much more cheerful. She bathed, slept, listened to a bedtime story from Daisy Willow, and after a long day of playing, quickly fell asleep.
Daisy Willow, who had also been exhausted, took a shower and lay down next to Elena to sleep.
