Carolline called Daisy Willow and asked her to clear her schedule three days later, telling her directly that the lawyer wanted to ask her some questions in person. Daisy Willow agreed very readily, which satisfied Carolline, so she hung up the phone.
When Bryan Hawkins was giving Axel a bath, he also took a quick shower himself, and then entered the room wrapped in a bath towel. Carolline was already lying in bed, reading a novel on her phone when she saw him, and jumped in surprise.

The next day, Carolline lay on the bed like a puddle of mud, waiting for Bryan Hawkins to attend to her.
