In the second half of the year, Carolline Ruiz still hadn’t decided whether to continue with the large class or switch to pre-school class.
"Let’s play Tank Battle! Who will lend me their game to play?" Megan Clifton called out to Auntie and Uncle and then ran into the living room with a thick-skinned request to join the game.
Father and son gave Megan Clifton a tacit glance, but no one paid her any attention. Megan Clifton was so frustrated by the cold shoulders, "Fine, Axel, now that you have your dad, you don’t need your godmother anymore, right?"
"Boy, you’re so noisy! Isn’t that a no-brainer? Blood is thicker than water, after all." Bryan Hawkins put his game away and patted Axel’s little head. "Go wash your hands with Mommy, it’s time for dinner."
"Hey, come on, Bryan Hawkins, isn’t this like burning the bridge? You and Carolline Ruiz, when you two were not remarried yet, this isn’t how you treated me! Now that you’re remarried, we’re just nobodies to you, right?" Megan Clifton was infuriated, with her hands on her hips, and angrily accused.
"Be mindful of prenatal teaching, Axel is still here. As a woman, your language is so vulgar, how on earth did Andy Aguirre fall for you in the first place?" Bryan Hawkins was good with his words, and no one could get the better of him.
"I seduced him." Megan Clifton blurted out in a moment of anger.
"Yikes!" Bryan Hawkins cringed in disgust and followed his son to wash his hands. Then, like an alien, he trailed behind Carolline Ruiz in circles.
A simple meal became enjoyable thanks to the bickering between Megan Clifton and Bryan Hawkins.
