Chapter 313 Little Girlfriend (2)
As soon as George Edwards stepped out of the elevator, Megan Clifton was waiting outside, "Yo, Dean Edwards, you’re quite early today, huh?"
"Aren’t you early too, Assistant Clifton?" Just because he couldn’t vent his anger on Carolline didn’t mean he could tolerate Megan, especially when her harsh words had hurt him that other day. Even if he wasn’t good enough for Carolline, it didn’t mean she could shamelessly point it out.
"Of course, I’m early, but it’s not like we can compare ourselves to Dean Edwards. You, sir, are on the Administrative Class." Megan had always disliked George, mainly because of how humiliating it was when he tried to pursue Carolline.
He never brought any gifts for the holidays, but always drew attention to his thick interest in Carolline, seemingly expecting her to make a move on him. She had never met such a despicable man before.
George glanced back at her. Megan closed the elevator door and ran downstairs to find Carolline, carrying the nutritious meal her mother-in-law had made for her. Having eaten too much already and getting tired of it, she convinced Andy to buy her some Spicy and Sour Noodles. Just as Carolline messaged her saying she had skipped breakfast, Megan decided to deliver the food to her.
Arriving at Carolline’s office, Megan knocked on the door symbolically, then entered. "Yo, you’re always arriving close to the starting time now. Is your husband keeping you busy?"
Indeed, absence makes the heart grow fonder. The couple had been separated for five years, and Megan really was starting to worry about how long Bryan Hawkins would torment Carolline, and whether her tiny figure could stand it.
"...What nonsense are you talking about?" Carolline was taken aback and only then realized what Megan was talking about. Her face reddened, and she scolded Megan.
"I mean, you’re already Axel’s mother. Why do you still blush when talking about this stuff like an unmarried girl?" Megan knew Carolline was naturally shy, but even after becoming a wife and mother, she remained so. How should people like Megan, who get all lovey-dovey even without being married, feel?
