Chapter 273: Being a Good Dad (3)
"This gift package is for Axel." George Edwards didn’t insist further and handed Carolline Ruiz a gift package from another table. Carolline accepted it and said, "Thank you, Uncle George, on behalf of Axel."
"No need to be so polite, Carolline. Are you free tomorrow evening? Bring Axel with you, and let’s go out for dinner." George Edwards approached her, and over the years, he had been actively pursuing Carolline, which was known by everyone.
Yes, he liked Carolline. Coming from a traditional family, he didn’t appreciate women who always dressed ostentatiously and spent their free time either clubbing or playing mahjong. Carolline, on the other hand, was entirely devoted to her family life and was his ideal woman. He didn’t mind at all that she was divorced and had a child. What he valued was a woman’s virtue.
Carolline possessed such virtues, and he knew that if he married her, there would be no worries of infidelity. She would manage their household flawlessly, and he could focus on his work.
"I’m sorry, Dean Edwards, but I’m busy tomorrow." Carolline refused directly.
"Well, then. Maybe next time." George wasn’t the type to be persistent and didn’t have much experience in pursuing women. He didn’t insist further if Carolline said she couldn’t.
After leaving George Edwards’ office, it was almost time to go off-duty. Carolline went back to her office to pack her things before heading home.
Bryan Cooper was still in her office waiting for her, looking at the gift package she brought back for Axel. He pouted, "So your workplace only gives such gift packages to Axel?"
