Chapter 233: Time Flies (7)
"You’d better remember that and let him carry his own backpack. It’s not that heavy, and it won’t get crushed." Carolline reminded Emily Hill of the backpack on her shoulder. Although the children around were carried by their parents, Carolline didn’t want to spoil her child this way. Since Axel started at the kindergarten class, he had always carried his own little backpack.
This was Carolline’s way of teaching him in daily life to do his things by himself.
"Fine, fine, I’ll let him carry it himself." Emily Hill quickly gave the backpack back to Axel.
Axel quickly finished his yogurt and ate all his snacks. Emily Hill took wet wipes from her bag and wiped his hands. Axel threw all the pockets into the trash can and then bounced over to Carolline. "Mommy, don’t be mad at Grandma. It’s me who begged for these snacks when I saw Grandma holding them. I won’t do it again next time."
Carolline gently said, holding Axel’s hand, "Mommy is not mad at Grandma. You just need not to do so next time." Carolline knew that her Axel was actually very sensible, but because everyone around him loved him so much, they couldn’t help but buy these delicious things for him to eat.
In their class, Axel’s teeth were the best, he ate neatly, and he was the best-behaved child in the eyes of all the teachers, not just because his grandmother was Deputy Director. The only benefit of Emily Hill being Deputy Director was that the children in Axel’s class were very friendly to him.
Every time the kindergarten held Family Day events, Carolline as his biological mother had no chance to participate. Axel’s godparents usually went with him, and Carolline could only be forced into a spectator role if she went.
In Megan’s words, other people’s children had their parents working together. If Carolline worked alone, wouldn’t that make the other children laugh at Axel? If he asked Andy Aguirre to go with her, she would be jealous, so he let the godparents go together.
