Carolline Ruiz covered her mouth in surprise. What had just happened in the span of a few minutes?
Bryan Hawkins’ focus was entirely on Joyce Lopez, so he didn’t notice Carolinne Ruiz and Andy Aguirre standing nearby. As soon as the elevator door opened, he carried the woman in his arms into the elevator.
Shortly after, about a dozen security guards escorted an old man with white hair out of the restroom.
Xavier Estrada ignited a 120 alarm, but did not follow them downstairs. Instead, he asked the duty manager if any members of the Lopez Family were dining here. Upon confirmation, he headed towards the private room booked by the family.
And that’s when Xavier saw Carolline. He also noticed Andy standing next to her, and Carolinne’s very obvious pregnant belly. He was stunned for a moment, before finally speaking, "...Ms. Carolline Ruiz?"
"What’s going on?" The scene had left Carolinne quite shaken, but she found herself asking the question anyway.
"Mr. George Morris’ father came for revenge on Mr. Hawkins because of his son. Miss Lopez probably took a hit for Mr. Hawkins. Ms. Carolline..." Xavier wanted to say more, but at that moment, Joyce’s mother emerged from the Lopez family’s private room. Concerned about her daughter for having not seen her for a while, she had come to look for her.
As soon as she stepped out of the private room, she heard Xavier’s words. The corridor was quiet, so she could hear Xavier’s every word clearly. Mrs. Lopez immediately rushed towards Xavier, "What did you just say? What happened to my Joyce?"
"Er, Mrs. Lopez, please don’t panic, let me explain." Xavier knew Mrs. Lopez, after all, he had met many people in this circle. But just now, he wanted to explain to Carolline. He was worried Carolline might have misunderstood something.
