On the way back, Carolline closed her eyes and pretended to sleep, with Bryan Hawkins’ figure filling her mind. It had been so long since they’d seen each other, and she truly missed him.
In a month, she could go back to G City. She even fantasized about whether things might change between them when Bryan saw her looking like this.
However, what Carolline didn’t know was that a month later, Bryan wouldn’t be in G City, making them miss each other once again.
Of course, she didn’t know that Bryan actually knew when she’d return and had deliberately avoided her because he worried that she might want to be with Andy Aguirre quickly and ask for a divorce. To this day, he was still unwilling to part ways, so he decided to just leave before Carolline came back.
That way, he had the excuse of not having time to go through the paperwork.

The trio couldn’t refuse and accepted the kind offerings. Carolline’s belly was sticking out quite a bit, so the two men helped carry all the items.
When Carolline was about to board the vehicle, a group of children grabbed her clothes, crying and begging her not to leave. Carolline’s tears followed, "When I go back, I’ll send you presents and find kindhearted donors to help build a beautiful school for you all. Is that okay?"
"Yes!" All the children answered in unison.
