"What did you say?" Emily Hill felt overwhelmed by the amount of information from those words, too much to take in all at once.
"Mom, don’t ask so many questions. In short, I’m keeping this child. If you and Dad can accept that, I’ll come home to give birth. If you can’t, I’ll give birth somewhere else. But I don’t want to talk about anything else."
That was Carolline Ruiz. Once she put her mind to something, she was very stubborn. No one could change it, not even if Emily Hill brought her father into it. She would never say what she didn’t want to say.
"..." Emily Hill knew that after Carolline stated her position, there was no point in asking any more, "Andy Aguirre, you go out first. I want to talk to Carolline alone."
"Okay, Auntie." Before Andy Aguirre left, he gave Carolline a look. He was actually still a little worried about her.
Carolline was sometimes too impulsive and too straightforward, like what had just happened. He had planned to talk after going into the room, but Carolline wouldn’t let him say anything and blurted it all out.

Emily Hill felt like she was about to explode. If the child was Bryan’s and they were married, why did they hide it from everyone? Now that she’s pregnant, why didn’t he mention it when she went to him.
If he had said that Carolline was his wife, would she have forced him to stay away from Carolline? As a mother, she knew how much her daughter loved this man.
