Chapter 666 - 618: Handsome Anyway! _2
Robert Griffith saw that she was safe and sound, and then impatiently scolded her, "If you didn’t want to come, then don’t come!"
"That’s not it!" Cherish Turner hurriedly explained, walking up to him and saying, "Grandpa Griffith, I was baking a cake at home and lost track of time, so I was late!"
Robert Griffith casually wiped his pipe with a handkerchief, seemingly unconcerned, "Why bake a cake when you can just buy one?"
"Many store-bought cakes use vegetable cream, which is not good for the body and high in fat. Since your health isn’t great, it’s safer to make one myself. I gave the cake to Granny Griffith, should we try some after you finish this round of chess?" Cherish asked expectantly. Robert’s wiping motion paused, and he put down the handkerchief and urged her, "Aren’t you going to sit down?"
Cherish breathed a sigh of relief and obediently sat down after putting down her bag.
When William Griffith arrived at the Griffith Family home, the three of them were enjoying the cake in the side hall. Granny Griffith praised Cherish’s skills and Robert quietly ate the cake. William walked into the side hall and saw the harmonious atmosphere, the corners of his mouth slightly lifted. He sat down next to Cherish, who immediately cut a piece of cake and handed it to him. "Try this, it’s a new cake I made, not too sweet."
William, who usually had no sense of taste for food, accepted the cake and took a few bites.
Robert finished the piece of cake on his plate and said faintly, "I’ve already asked Lawyer Harrison to redraft the agreement. My shares in Griffith will be split between you and Yannis."
It had been previously agreed that the shares would be transferred to Yannis Griffith six months later, but he ran away from his arranged marriage and never signed the agreement. Many things happened afterward, and the matter was set aside.
"I don’t want the shares," said William as he looked up at him, but held Cherish’s hand tighter.
Robert naturally understood William’s meaning, but there was always a knot in his heart, and he didn’t know why. He put down his plate, looked solemnly at the couple with his stubborn expression, and said sternly, "Don’t think that accompanying me to play chess and fish will make me accept and agree. If that’s your purpose, you’d better save your little tricks and energy!"
William’s handsome face was cold, but he held her hand tighter as if to give her strength. He knew how well-behaved Cherish was and how much she valued family. His chest felt heavy, and he was a little choked up, but as she gently squeezed his hand, he was unexpectedly reassured.
