She had thought about this kind of meeting before, asking herself what she would do in the face of such a situation. "I’m going back." Cherish muttered and stood up.
However, William Griffith grabbed her wrist. He was sitting in the rattan chair, not standing up, "Drink some tea."
"I don’t want to drink anymore."
"Then have some cake."
"I don’t want to eat either."
That’s when William stood up, pressing his hands on her shoulders, forcing her to face him. His deep, penetrating gaze seemed to reach into the depths of her soul as he solemnly spoke, "Leave everything to me; just remember that if I ever marry, my wife will only be Cherish Turner!"
Cherish shivered as if a current had passed through her heart.
