Cherish Turner held the key in her pocket tightly and whispered, "William Griffith, the apartment key..." She paused and lowered her voice, "Or just leave it with me. If I have time, I’ll clean it for you. It won’t take me much time, and you did ask me out to dinner today."

William Griffith took a puff of his cigarette, still staring at the TV screen, and said indifferently, "As you wish."
But she hadn’t noticed that he unconsciously smirked.
Cherish Turner released her grip, the key still in her pocket felt so reassuring. "I’m going to bed. Goodnight," she said, and headed towards the entrance to leave.
"Thirsty," William Griffith muttered, his gaze slowly shifting from the TV screen and finally sweeping over her. His stare seemed casual, but it was intense as he spoke in a low voice.
