Chapter 455 - 456: Can’t Bear to Let Go
Daniel Peacock noticed that her mood was a bit off and didn’t continue asking about it. They chatted about other things, and Cherish Turner felt that after breaking up with Daniel Peacock, their relationship seemed to be more like friends. In any case, it was much more harmonious than before. Indeed, some people are more at ease when they return to a friendship.
As they were engrossed in conversation, her mobile phone suddenly vibrated in her pocket.
Cherish took out her phone, confused about who would send her a message. Thinking for a moment, an uncertain answer popped into her head, but she was so hopeful. When she pressed the read button, the screen displayed a system message reminding her of a charge.
Cherish stared blankly at the message, the sense of loss slowly seeping out of her eyebrows.
They strolled through the night market, ate snacks, and drank cool mint-flavored red tea while chatting.
Time flew by, and the night deepened.
Daniel Peacock drove Cherish Turner home and stopped at the alley entrance. Seeing the dark and light sections of the alley, he intended to accompany her inside. But Cherish stopped him, saying it wasn’t necessary, that she was used to it. As they parted, Daniel Peacock gazed at Cherish’s retreating figure, lost in thought.
Under a starry night sky, Cherish walked alone.
Perhaps it was because of the late hour, but the alley seemed to have a gloomy atmosphere. She no longer lowered her head, bravely walking slowly.
