Domineering Love

That morning, around nine o’clock, Cherish Turner was still in her wrinkled skirt, her hair uncombed, having just washed her face. She heard the doorbell ring and thought William might have forgotten his key, so she quickly put down her towel and ran out of the bathroom. As she opened the door, her smile froze and her expression became somewhat unnatural.

Chloe Turner looked gorgeous, carrying a straw bag in her hands, as she smiled and called out, "Miss Turner."

"Chloe." Cherish didn’t expect her sister to find the place. She thought that their relationship must be more than casual as this was William Griffith’s private residence.

"Is William not home?"

"He’s out. Do you want to come in and wait?"

"No, if he comes back, please tell him I’ll wait for his call."

With that simple sentence, Chloe left gracefully. She always seemed to have a sense of superiority over Cherish, which made her very uncomfortable. Although the two women shared the same blood, having sisterly feelings between them was difficult for both.

Cherish couldn’t maintain her elegance and calmness, like Chloe could. The silence of William made her increasingly anxious. She shouldn’t be so narrow-minded since their past was something she couldn’t change or intervene. Even though they weren’t in a relationship then, they were at least friends who could have meals, meetings, and share their thoughts. Moreover, they had known each other for so long.

She trusted him and gave him enough space.

However, she just couldn’t act as if nothing had happened.

The fact they knew each other from five years ago seemed like a stepping stone she couldn’t cross, firmly placed between them.
