[Eternity’s soul awakens on the dim battlefield before dawn...]

[You open your eyes, the piercing cold wind brings a burnt stench of blood.]

[Looking around, corpses are strewn about the frozen ground, not a single living creature remains, permeated by the oppressive silence of a battle just ended.]

[By the light of the dying fires, you see many dismembered corpses, either beheaded, limbs severed, or burned to a charred lump, almost unrecognizable as human.]

[The corpses are clad in either the cotton robes of followers, armor stripped down to the lining, or wearing the tattered clothes of the poor.]

[But they all share one common feature, more or less all have mutated limbs, and those with heads remaining have blood-red eyes and expressions of extreme ferocity.]

[They are all monsters that have fallen under the corrupting gaze of the Profane Blood Sun!]

[You make a cursory search, finding no intact bodies, nor do you see the corpse of an enemy who fought against the fallen beasts.]

[You pick a few monster corpses at random and use the Flesh Authority to restore them to wholeness, but after attempting to possess them, you gain no useful memories, the minds of these fallen monsters... filled only with praises for the sun!]
