One million essence could buy the top-tier Epic+ Level weapon in the Book of Trade, or it could be used to purchase the lowest Legendary Grade armor, such as boots, shoulder guards, and wrist guards.

This might not seem like a lot, but keep in mind that this is just the essence gain from a boss at the end of the level and does not include items and equipment.

Lin Xun remembered that in the nightmare Chapter of the Blood Sun world, not counting the treasures obtained from chests and equipment plundered from enemies, the only top-grade equipment that dropped from monsters was the ’Brilliantly Colored Winged Boots’ dropped by the boss at the end of the level.

This was the drop rate in the nightmare Chapter. In normal Chapters, it was possible not to get a single piece of top-grade equipment even after completing an entire level.

Because of the low essence gain and drop rate in the Chapters, even if ordinary Apostles could advance to the next Chapter, they would usually stay at the current difficulty to accumulate enough essence to accumulate a full set of equipment before advancing to the next difficulty.

The equipment drop rate in Hell difficulty was exaggerated, including equipment such as the ’Demon Cleaver of Unohana’, ’Exorcism Charm’, ’Halo of Exorcising Evil and Removing Disaster’ dropped by the palace administrator, and ’Tachi: Evil Welcome Eight Scenes’ dropped by the Grand General.
