Ch. 341 - New Ability
New Novel - Read Here
The Nightmare Star slowly sailed away from the Golden Chamber of Commerce. Its speed gradually increased as it headed in the opposite direction.
Three hours later.
The Golden Chamber of Commerce's ship was no longer visible in the crystal ball. There were no other ships around, so it should be quiet enough.
Yang Yi stopped the ship and glanced at his Exposure level. It was already decreasing, having dropped by 1%..........
“Let me go! Where did you get these things from? Damn it!”
Tricia struggled and cursed.
Yang Yi had wrapped her up like a dumpling, using cloth and yarn dyed with the Core of Darkness. Only her head was exposed, and she hung from Yang Yi's wrist like a pendant.
“You're definitely going to be punished by the Holy Light!”
Yang Yi ignored her. He lifted his blindfold and scanned the surroundings with his three eyes, making sure there were no invisible ships or anything else following them.
“You...... Why does your left eye have three eyeballs? Oh my god, this is a mutation caused by Abyssal contamination..... You're a Contaminated One!”
Tricia suddenly became terrified, as if she were looking at a monster.
“You should contact the Holy Radiant Church yourself and let them purify you with holy fire. Only then can you escape from your suffering and receive redemption!” she babbled incessantly, trying to persuade Yang Yi to turn himself in like some little religious fanatic.
Yang Yi lifted her in front of him and carefully examined her. His three black eyeballs rotated, with their yellow, almond-shaped pupils all directed toward her.
“E-Even if you eat me, the contamination inside you won't be purified!”
Tricia was so frightened that she shrank her neck and did not dare open her eyes.
“Have you gotten smaller?” Yang Yi asked with a frown.
It wasn't very obvious when he wasn't using his three eyes, but once he activated them, it became apparent that Tricia seemed to have shrunk a little. Her body length was already less than eight centimeters.
“Your body is gradually shrinking?”
Yang Yi could tell.
“Hmph! Regretting it now, aren't you? Who told you to spend so much money buying me? Now you can't return me!”
Tricia suddenly regained her confidence and spoke with some schadenfreude.
“I'll deal with you later.”
Yang Yi took out a black cloth bag and threw the dumpling-wrapped Tricia inside.
The black-dyed cloth bag also had soundproofing properties, effectively putting Tricia completely under control.
He put his blindfold back on and asked about the situation on Suna's side.
“Is everything done?”
“It's already been taken care of. You can level up now,” Suna replied.
Yang Yi nodded and prepared to level up.
............
Inside the Witch's Laboratory.
The Abyssal Demon that had been alive earlier had already been drained of its blood. It was now waiting to be further dissected and turned into a specimen.
Even the Stone Man was no exception. It was dismantled into pieces, revealing that it was an intelligent puppet without a soul, controlled by magic.
This method of control had considerable research value. It could be applied to a living-armament magic array, allowing the array's duration to be extended even further.
In another corner of the laboratory, three living specimens witnessed the entire process. They were a Mutated Pale Worm, a Black-Scaled Merman, and a Vitality Sardine Tree.
The Abyssal Demons that entered the laboratory were successively bled and killed. Among them, the stronger Cyclops became an accomplice.
But in the end, even the Cyclops failed to escape its fate. It was killed without putting up any resistance and completely drained of blood. Even its entire head was removed and placed together with the head of another Cyclops that had already been dead for some time. Judging from the scene, they seemed to be planning to make some kind of comparison........
Throughout the entire process, the three living creatures did not dare to make a sound. Their bodies trembled nonstop.
The Mutated Pale Worm and the Black-Scaled Merman were locked inside cylindrical glass jars, while the Vitality Sardine Tree was tied up in front of the door.
Suddenly, the cabin trembled slightly, and five-colored radiance emerged.
It seemed that the Nightmare Star had undergone some kind of change.
............
Yang Yi had just paid 30,000 Crystal Diamonds and pressed the confirmation button to upgrade.
Immediately afterward, the entire ship began to glow, and it emitted a lustrous sheen like that of a gemstone. It was completely different from the previous upgrades.
After more than ten seconds passed, the radiance faded away.
The Nightmare Star had completed its upgrade, becoming a Level 5 ship.
However, there wasn't much change to the ship's exterior. At first glance, one might even think that it hadn't been upgraded at all.
But upon closer inspection, the differences became apparent.
The bones that made up the hull of the Nightmare Star seemed to have become more lustrous, resembling jade. When illuminated, they could even reflect light.
The same was true for the vines. They looked as though they were made from emerald jade.
The strength of both had also increased further, making them sturdier and more powerful.
Another change was the crystal ball in the ship's central courtyard. It had grown larger and emitted a very faint white halo.
Yang Yi opened the ship's interface to inspect it.
If these were the only changes on the surface, then the upgrade would be far too weak.
Fortunately, that wasn't the case.
The additional skill in the information panel made Yang Yi's eyes widen.
