A female voice devoid of emotion echoed through the control room, causing Yang Yi to look up.
A translucent female figure had appeared in the center of the room. Her lower body was blurred, while her hands were folded neatly in front of her.
Beneath her stood the central control console, which displayed a miniature model of the Shelter Ship floating quietly upon the sea.
“An intelligent AI?” Yang Yi asked in confusion.
“Yes. You may address me as Selt. I am the artificial intelligence program responsible for assisting in the management of the Shelter Ship,” the female projection replied.
“What can you do?” Yang Yi asked.
“Obey and carry out your commands, Acting Commander.”
“Uh...”
Yang Yi felt that this AI was a little too concise.
Fortunately, he had experience sailing ships and could roughly determine that this control room served as the helm of the Shelter Ship. Although the interface differed from conventional vessels, its functions were fundamentally the same.
Without authorization, no player could control another player's ship, and the same rule applied here.
After a player's death, their vessel could be occupied, dismantled, and stripped for resources, but taking direct control of it was an entirely different matter.
Permissions aboard the Shelter Ship were divided into extremely detailed categories and distributed to other players in the form of authorization cards. Otherwise, only a handful of people would never have been able to manage such an enormous vessel.
Yang Yi had no such concerns. There were only a few people aboard to begin with, and the ship did not truly belong to him anyway. He could only command it; he could neither upgrade it nor construct or expand its rooms. What he possessed was merely command authority.
After consulting Selt, he obtained the Shelter Ship's detailed information.
