Ch. 201 - An uncontrollable appetite
With the container design complete, the next step was manufacturing.
Yang Yi planned to make three sizes, small, medium, and large, with two sets of each, keeping one set as backup.
Since he wasn’t sure of the Fruit of Bounty’s size and shape, he could only estimate based on the available space inside the Sunlight Breeding Room.
In any case, it wouldn’t be longer than five meters, the Sunlight Breeding Room wasn’t that big.
So, the specs were set: five-meter class, three-meter class, and one-meter class, two sets of each. They could probably be completed within two days.
Next came the sea salt grenades.
These would be his main weapon against the Rotwhale once he left the Nightmare Star.
The reagent bottles from the rack couldn’t meet Yang Yi’s power requirements, the largest capacity was only 2 liters, far too small.
He’d have to make larger containers himself.
In the witch’s lab, he could set up a small furnace, melt crystal, and use glassblowing to shape the containers.
They didn’t need to be pretty or especially sturdy, they just needed to hold a large amount of sea salt and be throwable.
Yang Yi had Suna purchase a small furnace from the lab and ran a test.
Using pale worm fat, refined charred wine, or charcoal as fuel, the furnace got hot enough to melt crystal, making glassblowing possible.
It could even melt metal for weapon-making.
Yang Yi gave it a try, he had Suna make a mold based on the high-quality throwing darts they’d bought earlier, then attempted to cast one.
The results were poor, even the best of the three darts he made was only of normal quality.
The worst didn’t even register in the system’s item info…
Making high-quality metal weapons wasn’t easy, it required high-quality metal and solid forging skills.
Or there was the shortcut of using a system recipe for forging.
Yang Yi played at blacksmithing for a while. He didn’t gain much, but it lifted his mood.
With that, preparations were complete, only the manufacturing work remained.
The stomach fluid collection could be left to Suna…
Suddenly, Yang Yi felt unwell. He checked his status panel and frowned, stamina was at 74.
He planned to keep sailing for a while longer to get closer to the Farmer.
But sailing at night was something only he could manage, Suna didn’t have his level of night vision, and navigating these flesh-filled waters in darkness was dangerous.
Just as he was about to leave the cabin, Suna stopped him.
“Try this.”
She handed him a pale white potion, inside of which floated eyeball fruit and tiny eyeballs from an eyeball octopus, glowing with an eerie light.
“What’s this?” Yang Yi asked cautiously instead of drinking it right away.
“That high-energy protein bar you had, when dissolved, it makes a great potion base.
Much better than water or normal biological fluids!
So, I tried making a potion with it. Give it a taste, it shouldn’t have any major side effects.”
Suna explained.
Yang Yi hesitated for two seconds, then downed the potion. It had no real taste, but when the eyeball fruit and tiny eyeballs burst, they left a tingling numbness on his tongue.
【You have consumed an Unknown Potion Perception +1, Sanity -5. Gain night vision for the next 2 hours. After the effect ends, vision will blur for 15 minutes. Can be consumed up to three times, with durations stacking. Blurred vision time also stacks. Overuse may cause blindness.】
Yang Yi’s vision suddenly brightened. The cabin became a glaring white, forcing him to raise a hand to block the light.
“What’s wrong?
This should be a night vision potion, did I mess up the brewing?” Suna asked immediately.
Tears welled in Yang Yi’s eyes, it felt like he’d been flashbanged.
He already had night vision, so with the potion’s enhancement, the cabin lights now shone like miniature suns…
“The potion works, a little too well…”
Yang Yi sent the potion’s details to Suna:
【Name: Luminous Eyeball Potion】
