Yang Yi unexpectedly obtained the coordinates of an island located deep within the Bountiful Sea Region.
But after only a moment of thought, he dismissed the idea of turning back to explore it.
The reason was simple: he wasn’t adequately prepared yet. It would be better to first explore the island he had marked earlier, and return to the interior of the Bountiful Sea once everything was in place.
After all, the coordinates were already recorded.
Yang Yi checked the chat channel and noticed that fewer than 5,000 players remained in the Extreme Winter Sea Region, and that number was still dropping. It looked like the count would soon reach zero.
When that happened, it was likely the sea would undergo a new change.
He piloted the Nightmare Star away from the area, sailing out of the sugar-water-like sea much faster than he had entered.
His target was the island whose coordinates he had previously recorded.
...
It was late at night.
Inside the captain’s cabin, Yang Yi was organising the information he’d gathered.
He planned to release the photos taken during the day, along with details about the Bountiful Sea Region, and sell them to a major news outlet.
The intel was incredibly valuable. To put it bluntly, a large number of players would benefit from this information. But Yang Yi didn't particularly care.
Even if he didn’t sell it, someone else would eventually discover and publicise the same findings.
If he released it early, he could profit from the intel. If it was released late, more players would die. And the deaths of players didn’t benefit Yang Yi directly, since they wouldn’t send their gear or supplies to him before dying.
In fact, a larger player population worked in Yang Yi’s favour. It meant more people to trade and communicate with, and more channels for acquiring information.
No matter how strong-willed he was, even someone like Yang Yi couldn’t reach the end of this journey alone.
Still, before selling the intel, Yang Yi intended to maximise his profits.
Once the information was public, salt prices would undoubtedly soar, and food could also become more expensive. So, he needed to stock up on those goods while prices were still low.
That was the advantage of being a trailblazer.
As for bulk-buying salt to resell at a markup later? Yang Yi didn’t plan on doing that just yet.
His intention was to stockpile sea salt in his ship’s cargo hold. After leaving the Bountiful Sea Region, then he’d consider selling.
The ship’s storage space was limited.
If he sold his hoarded salt, even if it earned him some profit, he would regret it later. When supplies ran low, he’d be forced to buy it back, probably at a loss… or worse, not find any at all.
Just as Yang Yi opened the chat to post a message about purchasing sea salt, he noticed the number of remaining players in the Extreme Winter Sea Region had dropped to twenty.
The next second, it hit zero and a system announcement popped up.
【All players have now exited the Extreme Winter Sea Region.】
