Ch. 140 - Fat Fish
Yang Yi finally understood why Suna was in such a good mood.
She had come up with a promising theory about the intangible, untouchable essence of magic, Magus, and it actually seemed plausible. Which meant… she could be able to craft a potion similar to the super magic potion. That was fantastic news!
The two of them worked nonstop until dusk, and at last, the greatsword and tower shields were completed.
Now that they had refined their forging techniques, both efficiency and energy consumption had significantly improved. With that, aside from the reserved greatsword and five shields, the other thirty-six crystallised equipment pieces had all been sold.
Thirty of them had gone for 20,000 Shell Coins apiece. Two were sold at their original price without any haggling. And four more went for slightly more than 20,000 after minor price negotiations.
Total income: 740,000 Shell Coins.
Yang Yi’s balance now stood at 1.78 million, enough for him to seriously plan a round of purchasing.
But there was still some bad news: the watchtower’s scan had once again turned up nothing. It wasn’t clear whether it was just bad luck, a poor route, or simply that this section of the sea was this barren.
In any case, getting rich off lumber seemed unlikely. By evening, the price of wood had already dropped to 7 Shell Coins per unit.
From player chatter, Yang Yi learned that most of the islands in this “safe sea zone” were quite lush, meaning an oversupply of wood was inevitable. At that rate, the price could dip as low as 4 or even 3 Shell Coins.
Yang Yi decided he’d stockpile a large amount once prices hit rock bottom, to prepare for upgrading his ship to level four.
With nightfall less than an hour away, Yang Yi made use of the remaining light to cast his fishing line. In under five minutes, he got a bite, breaking his personal record for fastest catch.
Seeing the plump, round figure under the surface, Yang Yi thought he’d hooked another one of those adorably fat sea seals.
Thankfully, he didn’t cut the line.
As he hauled it out of the water, he saw the tiny worm-like bait clinging tightly to a massive, pig-like unknown fish. Yang Yi hesitated for a moment, then decided to shoot it in the head before reeling it in.
From the wound gushed a thick, milky-white fluid that gave off an incredibly tempting aroma.
Before long, a swarm of sea fish arrived, suctioning up the fluid ravenously, whether it was blood or oil, Yang Yi wasn’t sure. But the fish didn’t leave after that. They hovered nearby, staring longingly as Yang Yi dragged the big catch onto the ship.
A short while later, Yang Yi shot and hauled up those fish too, adding them to his growing pile on the deck.
【Name: Delicious Sea Bream】
