Ch. 92 - Sleeping Potion
Yang Yi applied grease to the frostbitten areas on his body, feeling much better afterwards.
Leaning in to sniff it, he noticed a pleasant aroma that wasn’t overpowering, then put on his shoes and sent a private message to Suna.
"By the way, I’m about to make some bread porridge. Want some?"
"No thanks!" Suna immediately declined.
"You’ve got a cold. Eating something warm is good for you."
"Your cooking is terrible!"
"Really?" Yang Yi scratched his head.
He thought it tasted fine — after all, he had eaten most of the pot himself.
To verify the claim, this time he didn’t take the appetite-enhancing potion and made only a small amount of porridge before tasting a spoonful.
"Bleh!"
"How could it taste this bad?"
Yang Yi’s face darkened.
He finally understood why Suna had looked so pained back then. It wasn’t because she was unwell, it was because the porridge was awful!
"Seems like adding Sichuan pepper oil to bread porridge was a bad idea!"
Yang Yi reflected deeply on his mistake but still ate the porridge in the end.
He didn’t want to waste it.
Glancing at the time, he saw there were still two hours until sunset — which was just enough time to cast a few lines and test out his newly acquired Pale Worm Fishing Rod.
The rod guaranteed a catch with every cast, even in the Extreme Winter Sea.
Finding a spot sheltered from the wind on the ship’s deck, he began fishing. He cast the line, and the pale worm at the end arced through the air before plunging into the icy waters.
What would he catch?
Yang Yi was filled with anticipation.
About half an hour later, the rod reacted, and the reel spun rapidly.
With a quick tug, he pulled a fish onto the deck.
It had four legs, a slender body, a sleek streamlined form, and intelligent eyes.
It was...a Long-Legged Sardine!
"Seriously?!"
Yang Yi couldn’t hold back and slammed the rod onto the deck.
"Not again!"
Looking up at the sky, he felt a palpable sense of malice — was he cursed?
Could the first catch of the day always be a Long-Legged Sardine?
No way!
Yet, until nightfall, Yang Yi failed to catch a second fish. Without the rod’s special ability, he would have gone empty-handed.
After packing up, Yang Yi skeptically checked the fishing net and pulled it up.
It was empty except for some scattered bits of ice.
In the Extreme Winter Sea, the fish yield was greatly reduced, and fishing nets were practically useless.
Relying on fishing for food? Not a chance you’d survive for long.
Sighing, Yang Yi browsed the chat channel and spent some money to buy two scarves.
