The spider was just thrown into the fireplace when its body ignited with a bright white flame, emitting a piercing shriek.

The ignited spider didn’t die immediately. Instead, it struggled and jumped out of the fireplace, its body still ablaze with bright white flames, seemingly attempting to escape.
Luckily, Yang Yi was prepared. He grabbed a nearby long-handled axe and smacked the spider back into place.
Before long, its body began to melt, acting as an accelerant that ignited the logs within, starting a roaring fire.
“Didn’t expect it to jump out. It almost set the room on fire,” Yang Yi said, setting down the long-handled axe.
He had figured out the properties of the fireplace.
Any living creature thrown inside would indeed ignite but wouldn’t die instantly, leaving room for resistance.
If such a creature managed to escape, it could easily ignite other things in the room, causing a fire.
Thus, before using it, it was best to render any creatures incapable of movement. If it was a spider, pulling off all its legs would suffice. For something like the long-legged sardine, removing its legs would also prevent any mishaps.
Warm light emanated from the fireplace as the room’s temperature began to rise gradually.
Suddenly, a white beam of light shot out from the flames within the fireplace.

At that point, activating his Madness state and drinking the Crimson Elixir would allow him to wield the greatsword!
After setting up the fireplace and understanding its use, Yang Yi and Suna returned to their respective tasks.
According to Suna, she was working on developing a new potion, using a culture fluid derived from the Rabid Wolf Virus.
However, she hadn’t yet found an effective way to neutralise the virus.
While high temperatures could kill the virus, they also rendered the culture fluid worthless.
Yang Yi told her there was no rush and to take her time.
After all, even Holy Water couldn’t cure the virus. Yang Yi was also worried about turning into a werewolf if he were to drink it.
Yang Yi then began preparing to sell weapons and armour.
He first tried repairing a deformed suit of plate armour with a stone hammer. After about two hours of effort, he managed to fix it.
