He turned into pure rainbow light and slipped into a crevice, gliding through deep darkness until he emerged in a slightly chilly cavern.

The sound of dripping water echoed through the gloom. A massive black serpent lay coiled atop the cave ceiling. Its pitch-black pupils opened as it hissed hoarsely, "Young Master."
Li Xizhi nodded slightly, and the jade vial in his hand shimmered with light. He chuckled softly and said warmly, "Pretty lucky. I searched the earth veins for a while and found a trace of Deepsea Earth Radiant Essence. It’s been extinct for years and its uses mostly forgotten but it’s rare nonetheless."
"Congratulations, Young Master." The black-and-red vapors within the jade vial rippled like water. Li Xizhi was clearly pleased and flipped his hand to store it away. Li Wushao rasped, "News from the Si Family has arrived, please take a look, Young Master."
Li Xizhi had encountered fluctuations in the earth vein once he had arrived in the deep sea. Radiant Essence and Lesser Yang light drifted and clashed within him, entangling with his mana and the Immortal Foundation in his qi sea. It was a highly perilous environment.
Fortunately, his talisman was Rainbow Pierce Skyway. The fierce Radiant Essence and Lesser Yang light were easily neutralized once they entered his body. Thus, he could manage well enough in this earth vein.
But while he endured it, Li Wushao suffered terribly, his whole body was sizzling with smoke. Li Xizhi had no choice but to protect the old demon, guiding him along the earth vein to a relatively safer cavern and settling him there.
Yet upon arriving, he consulted the Golden Feather Sect’s map and discovered a water vein nearby. This particular water vein connected all the way to the Eastern Sea. It took a moment, but Li Xizhi quickly understood quite a bit.
So he left the old demon here to watch over the water vein while he ventured out to collect spirit items. Now that he had returned, news from the Si Family had indeed arrived.
