Chapter 710: 709, Soul Devouring Array
Chapter 710: 709, Soul Devouring Array
Hu Lan turned his head to look and saw Song Yan Ning stepping into the room, âNingning, how did you get here?â He thought Ningning would not arrive until tomorrow.
Song Yan Ning walked up to Hu Lanâs side, her eyes coldly fixated on the Dragon King, âReveal where Long Yan is, and we will grant you a quick death. Otherwise, we will condemn you to eternal damnation.â
The Dragon King, with a look of disdain, curled his lip, âDo you even have the ability?â The mighty Dragon King, surely he didnât have to fear a mere girl?
Song Yan Ning smiled faintly and raised her hand to throw out several Array Flags.
As the Array Flags settled, the Dragon King was immediately engulfed in Flames, unbearably hot Fires that scorched him, forcing an agonizing howl from him. He hadnât expected that Song Yan Ning had set up a Soul Devouring Array. While the Flames were burning his body, it was his soul that truly suffered.
Song Yan Ning, pulling Hu Lan aside, sat down and took out a pot of tea, pouring a cup for both Hu Lan and herself. Even the Dragon King couldnât hold out for long; for every quarter of an hour burned by the Soul Capturing Array, a thread of the Dragon Kingâs soul would be stripped away. Even with the Dragon Kingâs Transcendance Tribulation Stage cultivation, he could endure for just about two hours at most.
âI tell youâŚâ Just an hour had passed, and the Dragon King could no longer hold on, âLong Yan is at the Silent Annihilation CliffâŚâ
Hu Lanâs body trembled slightly. He had heard from Long Yan that Silent Annihilation Cliff was where the Dragon Clan punished their kind who had erred. Long Yan had been confined there for so many years; even if she werenât dead, she would surely be hanging on by a mere thread. He hadnât expected the Dragon Clan to be so cruel to her.
âBrother, do you know of Silent Annihilation Cliff?â Seeing Hu Lanâs reaction, Song Yan Ning knew he might be aware of it.
Hu Lan came back to his senses and nodded slightly. He thought he would no longer care about Long Yanâs fate, but upon hearing she was at Silent Annihilation Cliff, his heart involuntarily ached.
âThen you should go quickly, Iâll handle things here.â Song Yan Ning could see that her brother still cared for Long Yan. If it werenât for the war that had erupted between the Dragon Clan and the Fox Clan, her brother and Long Yan would have been together already. She had spent time with Long Yan and had a good impression of her.
Hu Lan nodded and swiftly exited. He had to see Long Yan, to ask her why she betrayed him that year.
âIâve already told you⌠let me out quicklyâŚâ the Dragon King said anxiously. If he stayed in the Soul Capturing Array any longer, his soul might never recover.
Song Yan Ning withdrew her gaze to look at the Dragon King, âIf you want out, wait for your next life. Oh, I forgot, you wonât have a next life.â As she spoke, she threw out several more Array Flags.
âAh!â The Dragon Kingâs mournful screams echoed from within the Soul Capturing Array.
Song Yan Ning looked at the Dragon King trapped in the Array, a smile of relief curving her lips.
Turning to leave the study, she saw that outside the slaughter was still going on, with tens of thousands of Demon Beasts engaged in battle with the Dragon Clan, the entire Dragon Palace already steeped in blood, much like when the Dragon Clan had massacred their Fox Clan.
In a pitch-black cave, a woman with white hair and a pallid face lay on the ground, her lips cracked with blood oozing out slowly from the fissures. Her feeble breath betrayed how close she was to the end.
âMother, please donât die,â a child who appeared to be only five or six years old lightly shook the woman. He carried the bloodlines of both the Dragon and Fox Clans, and though he was already in his twenties, his visage remained that of a child. Unlike humans, Demon Clan members could look seven or eight years old even at a hundred.
âNian Lan⌠Mother canât hold on⌠I must go see your father,â the woman said weakly, her eyes gradually growing hazy. If not for Nian Lan, she would have allowed herself to die long ago.
âMother, please donât die, what will Nian Lan do without you?â The child could no longer contain his tears, sobbing intensely. He and his mother had been locked up here for more than twenty years, and though it was tough, having his mother with him made him feel safe. What would he do alone if his mother left?
