As soon as the bell rang, the three girls surrounded her, pushing and shoving their way out of the classroom, leaving no chance for Jiang Xun to get close.
Mid-June, although Jiang Xun was unwilling, and Feng Nianian was dissatisfied that Duan Qirui was taking charge, the engagement was nonetheless arranged to take place during the summer vacation.

The vacation dates varied, some early, some late. Ruan Jiaojiao’s school was among the earliest, while before the latest school’s vacation, Ruan Feng’s, Jiang Xun’s engagement party arrived.
The Jiang Family in Beidu was well-respected. With the Jiang Family’s young master engaged, naturally many attended. Despite the past unhappiness between the Ruan Family, Shu Wen, and Jiang Bin, both Jiang Yuanlong and Jiang Xun attended Ruan Jiaojiao’s engagement last time, so someone from the Ruan Family had to go. Typically, engagement parties like these start in the early evening and end around nine o’clock at night.
But that evening, not even eight o’clock, Ruan Jiaojiao saw both Ruan Jianguo and Ruan Hao return. She didn’t think much of it, glanced at them, and continued lounging on the sofa watching TV, but as soon as Ruan Jianguo entered, he shook his head and said, "How can Jiang Xun be so absurd? He’s already grown, doesn’t he know what he should or shouldn’t do?"
Ruan Jiaojiao’s attention was suddenly captured.
Curiously, she asked, "Dad, what are you talking about?"
