Zhao Li was stunned upon hearing this. Before she could say anything, Lu Zishu, lying on the bed, instantly raised his head and shouted, "Brother!" His injury was on the bridge of his nose, and speaking caused his face to tense up, making him cry and sniffle from the pain.
Zhao Li couldn’t worry about him at the moment. She walked up to Lu Xian and asked anxiously, "Why suddenly decide to study abroad without a good reason?"
Lu Xian attended Ye University. Although Ye University wasn’t as prestigious as Qing University, it was still a renowned institution in Beidu. Lu Xian was graduating this summer, and while studying abroad was trendy, the Lu Family wasn’t lacking the money. Lu Xian was excellent; he had secured a spot as a graduate student at the main campus, and he was gradually taking over the family business. He had no intention of going abroad.
This sudden decision to study abroad was what startled Zhao Li.
"I just suddenly thought about it. I want to go out and gain more experience," Lu Xian explained blandly, as if studying abroad was as simple as going out for a meal.
But Zhao Li wouldn’t believe it that easily. She glanced at Lu Zishu on the hospital bed and told him to lie down properly and not run around, then pulled Lu Xian outside the hospital room.
Sitting on the bench outside, Zhao Li spoke earnestly, "Xian’er, you’ve been sensible since you were young, rarely worrying your dad and me. You planned well for graduate school. Why suddenly go abroad? What happened? Talk to Mom about it."
Lu Xian’s long limbs couldn’t stretch properly on the hospital chair, and after Zhao Li pulled him to sit down for barely two seconds, he stood up, turned his back to her, and gazed at the people coming in and out of the hospital entrance. His mind seemed to drift away, back to over ten years ago, the first time he met Ruan Jiaojiao.
Actually, the first time he saw Ruan Jiaojiao was not when the Ruan Family was building their house, but rather at the hospital.
