Ruan Chi opened the soda bottle for Jiaojiao, inserted a straw, wiped down a high chair with his sleeve, and chased off a classmate who was sitting on it. He then lifted Jiaojiao to sit on the chair and went right back to playing pool with the others.
Meanwhile, Meatball obediently sat beside Jiaojiao. Most of the people here recognized it because Lu Xian had flaunted the wolf in the past.
Even those who didn’t recognize it weren’t too surprised; seeing everyone else acting calm about the wolf, they assumed it was just a dog and didn’t think much of it.
After settling Jiaojiao in place, Ruan Chi started a new game with the others. Over at other tables, Ruan Jie and Lu Xian had also started playing. Before the match began, the three laughed and said to Jiaojiao, "Jiaojiao, if we win this round, how about we use the prize money to go watch a movie?"
"Okay! Good luck, brothers!" Jiaojiao nodded as she sipped from her straw, curling her lips into a sweet smile while making an energetic thumbs-up gesture. She looked unbelievably adorable.
She was already naturally delicate and fair-skinned, and now with a pretty little dress and sitting neatly on the high chair, several boys around the same age as Ruan Jie couldn’t help but be taken in by her charm. Everyone suddenly understood why the Ruan brothers doted on their little sister so much.

Jiaojiao had watched plenty of pool matches before and was familiar with the rules. Sitting high up on her perch, sipping soda, she watched the three brothers play, cheering excitedly whenever someone sank a ball. Next to her, Meatball would mimic her, raising its head and letting out a howl. The pool hall practically echoed with the lively sounds of the two.

But given its chubby weight and its ridiculous expression when it lifted its head to howl alongside Jiaojiao, no one seemed frightened—if anything, they were struggling not to laugh out loud. Who’d be scared of this? If they didn’t die laughing, that’d already be impressive.
