Ruan Jie, upon hearing this, realized that Jiaojiao had indeed been frightened by him today. He still remembered her crying face when he was brought up, and immediately said tenderly, "Alright, next time, big brother will definitely pay more attention."
Jiaojiao looked at him, fully understanding the principle of ’hit once and then offer a sweet date.’ She smiled warmly and placed a big chicken drumstick onto Ruan Jie’s plate. "Hey!" Ruan Jie instantly pushed his bowl forward and, delighted, ate the big drumstick.
The adults exchanged glances and then shook their heads with helpless smiles.
The Xin Family had faced such issues, and Jiaojiao initially thought the birthday banquet would surely be called off. But unexpectedly, the whole afternoon passed without a single notice of cancellation.

"Oh, it’s nothing. Just curious, that’s all. Thanks, Xiaomen. We should meet up sometime when we’re free." Shu Jiao replied.
