So this morning, she was so busy that she hadn’t eaten a thing, and now her stomach was calling out.
When Ruan Jiaojiao heard her stomach grumble, her face changed.
She looked up and asked her, "Didn’t eat?"
"Ah, it’s nothing, it’s nothing." Shu Jiao quickly waved her hand and explained, "Mom isn’t hungry. You go ahead and eat. Once you’re done, Mom can go back and eat." But no sooner had she finished speaking than her stomach gave an embarrassingly loud growl.
Ruan Feng and the others all looked over.
Shu Jiao felt incredibly awkward.
Ruan Jiaojiao, seeing her feigned indifference, felt somewhat angry and stood up with her bowl.
Shu Jiao was startled, thinking she was angry, but then she saw her walk over to her side, her little face twisted awkwardly as she softly grunted, "We’ll each eat half." After saying that, she looked up at her and said, "If you say you won’t eat, I’ll be mad!"
Seeing Ruan Jiaojiao’s pretend anger, Shu Jiao felt so touched that her eyes brimmed with tears.
She nodded in a rush, "Alright, Mommy will eat half."
Perhaps it was because she was sharing the bowl of rice with her daughter, or that her daughter had personally set it aside for her, but Shu Jiao found that today’s meal tasted exceptionally delicious. If it weren’t for the fact there wasn’t enough, she really would’ve liked another bowl.
