The underlying implication of those words was to suggest that Xiu Jianlin take a concubine.
Liu Mei was not stupid, and quickly understood the insinuation. Her face filled with anger as she retorted, "Auntie Ruan, you don’t have to be so venomous. I simply couldn’t stand by and not speak up, but your grudge is too deep, too unforgiving."
"If you can, then take her back!" the Ruanlin Family repeated her statement.
Liu Mei was left speechless, not knowing what to say in response.
She bit her lip, pondering for a long while but not coming up with any rebuttal. Inadvertently turning her head, she saw Ruan Jiaojiao and Xiu Xi just standing at the doorway watching her, especially Xiu Xi whose eyes were emitting a greenish glow—deep and seemingly able to suck people in.
She couldn’t help but think of the two wolves that had entered her house before, with the same kind of look in their eyes. She immediately cowered, licked her lips, and silenced herself.
She felt that the Ruan Family were especially malicious, just as eerie as that bastard child, and as she touched her skin which had broken out in goosebumps, she turned around and slunk out dejectedly.
