Calix’s eyes traced the skyline of the city, looking beyond the vicinity of the manor. His worried countenance was reflected in the glass panels of the windows. A rare hint of displeasure clouded his eyes.
’Evelyn herself can be too stubborn.’
Shrugging, Calix let out a sigh of helplessness as he continued thinking of Evelyn. His genuine worry for his younger sister weighed his mind.
Despite planning to reveal the scum man’s deceit after gathering concrete evidence, it wouldn’t be enough.
’Eve will be mad with me. That’s for sure.’
Calix could predict what Evelyn’s reaction would be. Aside from being sad and heartbroken over the trash’s betrayal, she would get mad at him—Calix—for meddling with her personal life.
’I’m doing what I can. It’s better than Dad and Elder Brother know about this.’
Unless necessary, Calix wouldn’t inform Andrian, Vernon and everyone else in the family about Evelyn’s problem. He believed she had to bring it up herself.
Even though Calix said he would ruin the trash man’s life for cheating on Evelyn, he actually intended to let his younger sister deal with the scum. He just had to give her a push.
If Calix hadn’t heard anything about the garbage from Leslie, he knew for sure Evelyn would have hidden this grave matter once it happened, acting as if nothing affected her heart.
Evelyn would rather keep quiet and suffer alone than execute revenge against the cheating scumbag.
