Chapter 276: Won’t Let Them Off the Hook Easily
Mrs. Fu arrived at Froswtich Town at a quarter to ten. She brought along one of her trusted aids. Logan and another bodyguard went to pick them up from the airport before directly bringing the ladies to the orphanage.
At the same time, the orphanage staff and the children were busy preparing for Calliope’s farewell party. They politely rejected Calix’s offer to get a party service.
They wanted to decorate the dining room themselves. As for the food, Mr. Mori and his team would cook various kinds of dishes.
Understanding their intention to make this party memorable for Calliope, Calix and Leslie let them be. They just supplemented more funds for them.
Director Li brought Calix, Leslie, Calliope, Mrs. Fu and her aid to her office. All of them sat together discussing the little girl.
Mrs. Fu wasted no time as she immediately started the process of discharging Calliope formally from the orphanage including tightening up any possible loopholes. This was important to avoid anyone from trying to stake claims on her.
For example, Old Madam Li who was responsible ordering for her people to discard Calliope away right after her birth.
"Ah, why cover Poppy’s ears?"
Confused, Calliope asked Calix who suddenly placed his broad palms over her little ears. His actions earned dubious looks from Leslie and Director Li while Mrs. Fu and her aide remained calm.
"Can we charge that woman with anything?" asked Calix quietly after gesturing at Calliope to stay put for a moment, "How about attempted murder?"
Leslie and Director Li were stunned by Calix’s questions. He deliberately lowered his voice further when he voiced the last inquiry. The composed Mrs. Fu calmly responded to the man.
