He would shield them with all his might if obstacles came their way, no matter how big or small the barriers were. No one could get away unscathed once they dared to touch this family of his.
"Uncle! Are you a wizard? How can you make this?"
Calliope’s voice with a dose of awe pulled Calix out of his trance. Blinking, he saw the little girl’s eyes kept shifting from the fruits to him. A layer of an unadulterated marvel was cast on her small countenance.
"Hahaha! That doesn’t sound bad," Calix threw his head backward, guffawing at Calliope’s remark, "You can say that ah. Aren’t I a talented wizard?"
"Yes!"
Leslie refrained herself from laughing too much seeing the exchange of words between Calliope and Calix. She could tell the little one’s admiration toward the man continued to grow.
This was nice. Leslie wished Calliope wouldn’t be too apprehensive once she and Calix brought up the major subject of their identities later.
’Even if she rejects us in the beginning, I hope it won’t take her long to warm up to the idea.’
Director Li had prepared Leslie and Calix for Calliope’s possible responses to the news. The little girl might withdraw herself from them suddenly due to the shock. But, it shouldn’t be a long-term issue.
