"Are you tired?"
Faint laughter laced Calix’s voice. His question earned a chuckle from Leslie. She didn’t notice how the man’s gaze softened as he locked his eyes on her countenance.

Calix and Leslie had just returned from the Xu family’s ancestral home. They had a pleasant dinner with Old Madam Xu, Andrian and Harper. All three of them assured the spouses of their indefinite support.
"I’ll consult with Edward about my schedule," said Calix as he carried Leslie to the couch in her bedroom, "Hopefully, we can go to Calliope before this week ends."
"Don’t be hasty... I know you’re busy..." Leslie advised Calix, not wanting him to overwork himself in the process, "Now that Grandma, Mother and... Father know, we have less... pressure for our... plan..."
"I’ll do that. Don’t worry ah."
Calix carefully lowered Leslie on the couch before taking his hands away from her petite frame. Instead of immediately leaving the bedroom, he threw himself on the seat next to her.
"Aside from rearranging my schedule, I’ll look into a residence there," said Calix, referring to the place where they would reside temporarily, "It’ll be better if it’s closer to the orphanage."
Despite being a small town, Frostwich Town was blessed with a good economy. Local and foreign tourists alike often dropped by there for a short visit before continuing their journey to the neighboring towns.
"I’ll just follow your... arrangements... Hehe, it’s great to be... a salted fish sometimes... You handle everything while I... can be lazy..."
