Win My Husband Over to Find My Child

Chapter 103: Lying on a Swing Chair Together

"Oh, you’re here."

Hearing the familiar voice, Leslie looked up from the novel she was reading. The chilly breeze gently tousled her long hair. Her eyes landed on Calix’s smiling face.

Seemed like he had just returned from the backyard. Leslie didn’t notice when the family stopped playing. She was too engrossed in her reading.

"You had fun, didn’t you?" Leslie chuckled, pointing toward the backyard, "I saw you playing there. Hehe, it looked fun."

"Mia wanted to play catch ball so, we just did," Calix replied while shrugging, one of his hands deep into his cargo pants pocket, "She fell asleep once my brother carried her after playing."

Stepping out to the balcony, Calix’s figure was illuminated by the lights hanging above. He slowly approached Leslie. She was sitting on the double-seat rattan swing chair, holding a book on her lap.

The young lady scooted to the end of the left side, giving him space to sit there. The swing was big enough to occupy one more adult.

"Aren’t you hungry? You didn’t eat lunch," asked Calix once he leaned against the comfy plush cushions. The chair swung gently, following his movement, "I told the kitchen to bring some food here soon."

"Thanks. I just felt hungry. I ate the cookies and salted almonds."

Leslie declined when Calix asked whether she wanted lunch or not. She was still full from breakfast. Her hunger surfaced earlier but, the snacks he left behind helped to suppress it.

"Eat them all if you want. We’ll have more food starting tomorrow. The relatives will be here after all."
