Chapter 69: Witnessing Romance Novel Readers’ Favorites Scenes
But, Leslie didn’t let herself be discouraged for too long. She comforted her troubled mind by reminding herself of Calix’s willingness to listen to her stories, no matter how nonsensical they sounded.
It began when Leslie introduced herself as the soul of Calix’s newly wedded wife.
Despite being shocked by her proclamation, he still treated her well from the beginning. He even worried about her mealtimes.
Calix also listened when Leslie brought up her request to look for Calliope. Once again he was surprised, especially when she admitted that she couldn’t tell everything to him yet.
But, he promised to assist her in the end. He also didn’t pressure her to expose her secrets.
Thus, Leslie chased her fear away. Calix said they should have a conversation later. She anticipated that, wondering what he might have in mind.
"I should go see everyone too," whispered Leslie to herself.
Moving away from the spot where she hovered, Leslie quietly entered the hotel room. She saw Calix talking to Xander. The male lead’s face still had traces of being drunk but, he had regained his alertness.
As for the female lead, Violet was still unconscious. Laying on the bed, her body was covered with a thick blanket. Her teary-eyed assistant wiped her forehead with a damp towel.
Davin and the doctor stood on the opposite side. Their expressions were grim. Even though Violet was saved before the irrevocable happened, the situation was still dire.
The longer Violet stayed unconscious, the stifler the air turned. Xander was so close to marching to the room next door, desperate to unleash his wrath on Monica and Alex.
