Chapter 58: Our Daughter Did Nothing Wrong
"If not for his family, does he think we’ll let ourselves lose face?"
"That brat is so rude! How did the Xu family teach him?"
"Urgh... I almost got heartburn because of him!"
Geoffrey balled his hands into fists, veins popping up on the back of his hands. He kept complaining while sitting on the bed, enraged by how blatantly Calix showed him no respect.
In the midst of Geoffrey’s whining, his wife Deena was busy applying her skincare in front of the vanity table. She had already changed into a silk nightdress.
"That boy’s blind and rude," Deena huffed out of frustration. She spread a thin layer of moisturizer on her skin, "I don’t know what he sees in that useless girl. She’s even in a coma. Like a corpse."
"That’s what I’m saying!" Geoffrey’s face reddened, his eyes glowering ferociously, "Huh! I bet Rowan’s gloating about it now. He gets the Xu family’s heir as his son-in-law!"
The husband and wife were so irritated by how Calix deliberately humiliated them. He also dared to reject their beloved daughter, causing Gladys to weep.
Their beautiful daughter had never been treated like that by any man before.
"Oh... our princess is so pitiful..." lamented Deena quietly.
Since Calix left the dining room with Rowan’s family, Geoffrey had been in a bad mood. He almost lashed out right there and then but, Deena quickly stopped him.
