Qiao Xi rubbed her drowsy eyes and turned her head upon hearing some noise, seeing Huo Xingzhou emerging from the bathroom. He was only wearing a bathrobe, with the tie undone.
The exposed chest still had some moisture, with water droplets sliding down and disappearing into the bathrobe.
Qiao Xi yawned, her head feeling heavy.
It seemed like she had fallen asleep early last night. After leaving the party, she couldn’t remember anything, as if there was a blackout. The champagne’s alcohol content was low, but she didn’t know how much she drank, eventually getting sleepy as the effects kicked in.
Her gaze followed Huo Xingzhou as he dried his hair and approached the bed.
Suddenly, Huo Xingzhou bent down and reached out to caress her cheek.
His eyes looked at her seriously, as if trying to see into her heart. Then, he lowered his head, saying nothing, and kissed her lips.
Qiao Xi placed her hands on his chest, with a hint of resistance in her movements: "I haven’t... taken a shower yet."
